At Relay Control, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application and services.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, as well as information collected automatically when you use our services.
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and any other information you choose to provide. This information is necessary to provide you with access to our services.
Usage Data
When you are signed in, we collect privacy-safe workflow outcomes and reliability data such as completed or failed operations, coarse duration and size ranges, app crashes, and feature adoption. This sharing is required on the Free plan; paid users can disable it in Settings, and an Enterprise organisation may disable collection by policy. When offline, up to 500 events may be stored locally for no more than seven days and uploaded after you reconnect. We do not use session replay, employee time tracking, or individual productivity rankings.
Usage events never include filenames, filesystem paths, document or OCR text, prompts, generated code, tag names, screenshots, or raw exception stacks. Raw events use a pseudonymous account identifier, are stored in a US Google Cloud region, and expire after 90 days. Non-identifying daily aggregates may be retained for up to 24 months.
Device Information
Usage events include the application version and broad operating-system family. They do not include a hardware identifier or filesystem information.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process transactions and send related information
- Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
- Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
- Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity
Optional Data Processing
We may offer optional features that analyze your project data to find similar projects or provide enhanced recommendations. These features are entirely opt-in and only process your data upon your explicit request. You retain full control over whether to enable these features, and you can disable them at any time. We will never process your project data for these purposes without your consent.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use third-party services such as Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication, hosting, and data storage. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure authentication mechanisms, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
- Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@relaycontrol.io.
Account deletion removes raw usage events addressable to your pseudonymous account identifier. Organisation-level aggregates that no longer identify an individual may remain.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and remember your preferences. The desktop application stores your usage-and-diagnostics choice and its bounded offline analytics queue locally. Queued events are deleted when successfully uploaded, when they expire, or when you sign out or opt out.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
